[Scene1: Central Perk. Phoebe is explaining what has happened so far to the viewers.]
セントラルパーク。フィービーがこれまでに何が起こったかを視聴者に説明している。
Phoebe: Ok, so this is pretty much what's happened so far. Ross was in love with Rachel since, you know, forever, but every time he tried to tell her, something kind of got in the way, like cats, and Italian guys. Finally Chandler was like "forget about her" but when Ross was in China on his dig, Chandler let it slip that Ross was in love with Rachel. She was like, "Oh my god." So she went to the airport to meet him when he came back, but what she didn't know was, that Ross was getting off the plane with another woman. Uh-Oh! So, that's pretty much everything you need to know. But, enough about us. So, how've you been?
「さーて、これがここまでのあらすじよ。ロスはレイチェルに恋してたの、えーと、ずーっとね。でも、告白しようとするといつも、何かがなんていうか邪魔したの、猫とかイタリア人男とか。ついにチャンドラーが"彼女のことは忘れろ"って言ったんだけど、ロスが中国に発掘に行った時、チャンドラーがロスはレイチェルに恋してるって口滑らせちゃったのよね。レイチェルは"えー、そうなの！"って感じで。だからレイチェルはロスが戻ってくるときに彼と会うために空港に言ったんだけど、レイチェルが知らなかったのは、ロスはほかの女性と飛行機降りるところだったってこと。あらら！ さて、これが知っといた方がいいこと全部かな。でも、私たちのことはもう十分ね。で、あなたたちは元気だった？」
[Scene2: The airport. Ross is entering with a woman. Rachel sees it and she is shocked.]
空港。ロスが女性と入ってくる。レイチェルはそれを見て、ショックを受ける。
Rachel: Oh my god. Oh my god. Excuse me. Emergency! Excuse me!
「そんな。そんな。すみません。緊急事態です！ すみません！」
(She tries to get away, but falls, screaming)
逃げようとするが叫びながら転ぶ。
Ross: Rach!
「レイチ！」
Rachel: Oh, there you are! Hi! Oh, so, so, how was China, you?
「あ、そこにいたのね！ お帰りなさい！ ねぇ、それで中国はどうだったの、ロス！？」
Ross: It was, it was great. Oh, what happened?
「うん、とても良かったよ。あれ？ どうしたの？」
Rachel: What?
「え？」
Ross: You're bleeding.
「出血してるぞ」
Rachel: I am? Oh, look at that, yes I am. Enough about me, enough about me, Mr. Back from the Orient. I wanna hear everything! Everything!
「私が？ あら、ほんとだ、そうだね。私のことはいいのよ、私のことは。ミスター・東洋から戻ってきた人。すべて聞きたいわ。すべて！」
Ross: Well, where do I start? This is Julie. Julie, this is Rachel.
「えーと、何から話したらいいかなぁ。こちらはジュリー。ジュリー、レイチェルだよ」
Rachel: Hi. (She shakes hands with Julie.) Oh, (to Ross) These are, these aren't for you. (to Julie) These are for you. Welcome to our country.
「どうも。（ジュリーと握手）あ、（ロスに）これらは、これらはあなたのじゃないの。（ジュリーに）あなたによ。私たちの国へようこそ」
Julie: Thank you. I'm from New York.
「ありがとう。私はニューヨーク出身です」
Rachel: Ok, well, not a problem. We'll just use them to stop the bleeding. Ok. Baggage claim? Ok.
「そう、うん。問題ないわ。出血を止めるために使いましょう。うん。手荷物受取所かな？ 行こう」
[Scene3: Monica and Rachel's apartment. Everyone except Ross and Rachel is there.]
モニカとレイチェルのアパート。ロスとレイチェル以外、全員いる。
Monica: I'm telling you, she went to the airport, and she's gonna go for it with Ross.
「そうなんだって。空港に行ったし、兄さんと付き合うために行くのよ」
Phoebe: Oh my god. This is huge. This is bigger than huge. This is like, all right, what's bigger than huge?
「うわぁ。これは大ごとだわ。大ごとより大きいわ。これってまるで、んー、大ごとより大きいのって何？」
Joey: Um, this?
「えーと、これ？」
Phoebe: Yes.
「そうよ」
Monica: Guys, you got your hair cut.
「２人とも、髪切ったのね」
Chandler: Yes, yes, we did, thanks to Vidal Buffay.
「あぁ、そうなんだ。ヴィダル・ブッフェさんのおかげでね」
Phoebe: Because, you know, "if you don't look good, we don't look good." I love that voice.
「だって、ほら、あなたがよく見えなければ、私たちもよく見えない。あの声大好き」
(Rachel runs in, out of breath)
レイチェルが駆け込んでくる、息が切れている。
Rachel: Airport, airport. Ross, not alone, Julie, arm around her. Cramp, cramp.
「空港、空港。ロス、一人じゃない、ジュリー、手を組んでる。痙攣、痙攣。」
Chandler: Ok, I think she's trying to tell us something. Quick, get the verbs.
「よーし、何か俺らに言おうとしているようだ。急げ、動詞を拾って」
Rachel: You, you, you said he liked me. (realizes Ross and Julie are behind her. To Ross) You, you slowpokes!
「あんた！ あんたが、ロスは私のこと好きだって言ったじゃない。（ロスとジュリーが後ろにいることに気づいて、ロスに）あんた、遅いじゃない！」
Ross: That's all right, Rach, we got the bags. Hi, hello. Julie, this is my sister Monica, Chandler, Joey. Everyone, this is Julie.
「大丈夫だよ、レイチ、僕らバッグ持ったから。あ、ただいま。ジュリー、僕の妹のモニカ、チャンドラーとジョーイ。みんな、ジュリーだよ」
All: Ahhh, Hi.
「あーーー、どうも」
Julie: Hi, but I'm not here, you haven't met me. I'll make a much better first impression tomorrow when I don't have 20 hours of cab and plane on me.
「どうも、でも私はここにいなかったことに、まだ私と会ってないってことでね。タクシーと飛行機の20時間過ごしたあとじゃない明日に、もっといい第一印象与えたいから」
Ross: And bus.
「あとバスね」
Julie: Oh my god.
「もう、ほんとね」
Ross: And the screaming guy.
「あと、叫ぶ男」
Julie: And spinning and...
「あと回転してね」
Ross: You gotta hear this story.
「この話聞いてくれよ」
Julie: We're on this bus, that's easily 200 years old,
「バスに乗ってたらさ、ゆうに200年ものね」
Ross: 200 at least.
「少なくとも200年だね」
Julie: And this guy--
「あと、男が‥」
Rachel: And the chicken poops in her lap. Oh, I'm so sorry. I just gave away the ending, didn't I? Oh! It's just, I just heard this story in the cab, and it is all I can think about.
「鶏がジュリーの膝に糞したの。あ、ほんとごめんね。エンディングをネタバレしちゃったよね？ もう！ もうこの話、タクシーで聞いたら、それしか考えられなくなって」
Monica: This is amazing. I mean, how, how did this happen?
「これはすごいわ。その、ど、どうしてこうなったの？」
Julie: Well, Ross and I were in grad school together.
「その、ロスと私は大学院で一緒だったの」
Ross: But we haven't seen each other since then. I land in China, guess who's in charge of the dig.
「それ以来会ってなかったんだよね。中国に着陸したら、誰が発掘の責任者だったと思う？」
Rachel: Julie! Julie, isn't that great? I mean, isn't that just kick-you-in-the-crotch, spit-on-your-neck fantastic?
「ジュリーよ！ ジュリー、それってすごいわよね。その、股間にキック、首に唾吐きの素晴らしさよね？」
Monica: It's just an expression.
「１つの表現よ」
Ross: Well, we just wanted to say a quick hi, and then we're gonna go see the baby.
「まぁ、ちょっと軽く挨拶したかっただけ、そしたら赤ちゃん見に行くんだ」
Julie: And then we've gotta get some sleep.
「そしたら寝ないとね」
Ross: Yeah, it's really 6:00 tomorrow night our time.
「あぁ、僕らの時間では本当は明日の夜の6時なんだ」
Chandler: Well, listen, don't tell us what's gonna happen, because I like to be surprised.
「あ、あのな、何が起こるか俺らに言うなよ、だって驚きたいから」
(Ross and Julie starts to leave)
ロスとジュリーは出発。
Rachel: Bye.
「じゃあね」
Ross: Bye.
「じゃあねー」
(Rachel closes the door, and everyone looks disappointed)
レイチェルはドアを閉めて、みんながっかりした表情。
[Scene4: Central Perk. Rachel is working. Ross and Chandler enter.]
セントラルパーク。レイチェルが働いている。ロスとチャンドラーが入ってくる。
Ross: Hey, Rach, can I get some coffee?
「やぁ、レイチ、コーヒーくれる？」
Rachel: Yeah, sure.
「うん、もちろん」
Ross: Thank you.
「ありがとう」
Chandler: Hey, Rach, can I get--
「やぁ、レイチ、コーヒーくれ‥」
Rachel: Did you talk to him?
「ロスと話した？」
Chandler: Not yet.
「まだ」
Rachel: Then, no.
「じゃあ、ダメ」
Chandler: (To Ross, who is on the couch) So what the hell happened to you in China? I mean, when last we left you, you were totally in love with, you know.
「（ソファーに座っているロスに）中国で一体何が起こったんだよ？ その、最後俺らがお前と別れたときは、お前は、完全に惚れてたじゃないか、ほら」
Ross: I know, I know I was, but there was always this little voice inside that kept saying it's never gonna happen, move on. You know whose voice that was?
「わかってるよ、そうだったよ。でも、絶対にそうならないよ、次へ進めって言い続ける心の中の小さな声がいつもあったんだよ。誰の声だったかわかるか？」
Chandler: God?
「神様？」
Ross: It was you, pal.
「お前だよ、親友」
Chandler: Well, maybe it was God doing me.
「んー、きっと、神様が俺のモノマネをしてたんだ」
Ross: Look, you were right. She looks at me and sees a friend, that's all. But then I met Julie, and I don't know, we're having a great time. And I never would've gone for it with her if it hadn't been for you.
「あのさ、お前は正しかったよ。レイチェルは僕を見て、友達を見ていた、それだけだ。でも、そのときジュリーに会ったんだ、そしたら、ほんと楽しいんだよ。お前がいなかったら、ジュリーと付き合おうとなんか絶対してなかったよ」
Chandler: Well, you owe me one, big guy.
「いやぁ、俺に借りができたな」
Rachel: (to Ross) Here's your lemonade.
「レモネードお待たせ」
Ross: I didn't order lemonade.
「僕はレモネード頼んでないよ」
Rachel: Oh. Well then, you better go take that back because they're gonna charge you for that.
「あ、じゃあ、それ、後ろに持っていかないと、だって料金請求されちゃうわよ」
Ross: But--
「でも‥」
Rachel: Go go go go, come on! (Ross goes to the counter) Well, what did you find out?
「行った行った行った、速く！ （ロスはカウンターの方に行く）で、何かわかった？」
Chandler: He said, he said, he said, he said that they're having a great time. I'm sorry.
「あいつ、あいつ、あいつが言うには、今が楽しいって。ごめんね」
Rachel: What?
「えー？」
Chandler: But, the silver lining, if you wanna see it, is that he made the decision all by himself without any outside help whatsoever.
「でも、不幸中の幸いは、もし見たいなら、あいつはその決断完全に一人で下したって、外の誰の助けもまーったくなしに」
Ross: How is that the silver lining?
「どうしたらそれが不幸中の幸いなのよ？」
Chandler: You have to really wanna see it.
「本当に見たくないとね」
[Scene5: Monica and Rachel's apartment. Ross is watching a Sumo match. Monica, Phoebe and Joey are also there.]
モニカとレイチェルのアパート。ロスが相撲の取り組みを見ている。モニカ、フィービー、ジョーイもそこにいる。
Ross: Ironically, these are the guys who were picked last in gym.
「皮肉なことに、彼らは体育で最後に選ばれる男たちだ」
Monica: Phoebes, you know what I'm thinking?
「フィーブス、私が何考えてるかわかる？」
Phoebe: Oh, ok. How, it's been so long since you've had sex, you're wondering if they've changed it?
「あー、当てるわ。そうねぇ、セックスして以来かなり時間が経ってるから、人々はそれを変えたかなって不思議に思ってる？」
Monica: No, although now that's what I'm thinking.
「違うわ、でも、今は、それ考えてるけどね」
Phoebe: All right, so what were you thinking?
「そう、じゃあ、何考えてたの？」
Monica: Well, I was thinking, that you gave the guys such great haircuts, I thought, maybe you'd like to do mine?
「んー、考えてたのよ、２人にすごく良いヘアカットしたじゃない、だから、私のもやってくれないかなぁって」
Phoebe: Oh. No.
「なるほどね。いやだ」
Monica: Why not?
「なんでよ？」
Phoebe: Because, I'm just, I'm incredibly anal and an unbelievable control freak.
「だって、私って、信じられないほど嫌なやつで、信じられないほど細かいから」
Monica: No you're not.
「そんなことないわよ」
Phoebe: I know I'm not, but you are, and I was trying to spare your feelings.
「私はそうじゃないってわかってるけど、モニカがそうなの、ただ、モニカの気持ちを守ろうとしてたの」
(Phone rings)
電話がなる
Joey: Hello? Oh, hi. Yeah, hold on a second. Ross, it's Julie for you. (tosses the phone hard on purpose)
「もしもし？ あ、どうも。あぁ、ちょっと待って。ロス、ジュリーだよ。（電話を意図的に強く投げる）」
Ross: Hello? Hi.
「もしもし、やぁ」
Chandler: (enters) Hi. Anybody know a good tailor?
「（入ってくる）なぁ、誰か良い仕立て屋知らないか？」
Joey: Needs some clothes altered?
「服を仕立て直してもらわないといけないのかな？」
Chandler: No, no, I'm just looking for a man to draw on me with chalk.
「いやいや、チョークで俺の上に書いてくれる人を探しているだけ」
Joey: Why don't you go see Frankie? My family's been going to him forever. He did my first suit when I was 15. No wait, 16. No, excuse me, 15. All right, when was 1990?
「フランキーに会ってきなよ。うちの家族はずーっと彼のとこ行ってるよ。俺が15歳のときに最初のスーツやってくれたんだ。あ、待って。16歳だった。お、失礼15歳だった。えーと、1990年っていつ？」
Chandler: You have to stop the Q-tip when there's resistance!
「反発があったら、綿棒は止めないとダメ！」
Ross: Ok, ok, sweetheart, I'll see you later. (sits right next to Rachel, who is clearly annoyed) Ok, bye. What? Oh, that is so sweet. No, no, ok, you hang up. Ok, ok, one, two, three. Well you didn't hang up either. (To Rachel) She didn't hang up either. Ok, no, no, you hang up. You, you, y-- (Rachel hangs up the phone)
「うん、また後でね。うん、じゃあね。え？ いやぁ、それは嬉しいね。いやいや、君が切ってよ。１、２、３。え、君も切らなかったの。（レイチェルに）彼女も切らなかったよ。はい、君が切ってよ。君が、君が、き（レイチェルが電話を切る）」
Rachel: Sorry, I thought you were talking to me.
「ごめんね。私に話してると思ったの」
Ross: Rachel! I'll just call her back.
「レイチェル！ またかけ直す」
Rachel: (walks to the table, where the others are) Ok, ok, ok. How did this happen to me? How did this happen to me? A week ago, two weeks ago, I was fine. Ross was just Ross, just this guy. Now he's Rrrooossss, oh, this really great guy that I can't have.
「ねぇねぇ、どうして私こうなったの？ どうしてこうなったの？ １週間前、２週間前、私はなんともなかった。ロスはただのロス、ただの男だった。今じゃ、ローーーーース、私に手が届かない本当にいい男」
Monica: Sweetie, I wanted you to have him too.
「私もレイチェルに兄さんと付き合って欲しいと思ってたの」
Rachel: I know you did. I'm just gonna deal with it, I'm just gonna deal with it. (Ross comes near to get some fruit while making a kissing noise.) I gotta get out of here. (She leaves)
「わかってるわ。私がなんとかしないと、なんとかするわ。（ロスがフルーツを取りに近くにやってくる、キスの音を出しながら）ここ出ないと（出る）」
Chandler: Ok, I don't care what you guys say, something's bothering her.
「あのさ、君たちがなんでいうか気にしないけど、何かレイチェル嫌がってるぞ」
[Scene6: Monica and Rachel's apartment in the morning. Monica, Phoebe, Joey and Chandler are there.]
Joey: You know, I think I was sixteen.
「あのさ、俺は16歳だったと思う」
Monica: Please, just a little bit off the back.
「お願い、後ろをちょっとだけ」
Phoebe: I'm still on "no".
「まだ"ダメ"」
Rachel: (Sticks her head out of her room) Uh, morning. Do you guys think you could close your eyes for just a sec?
「（自分の部屋から頭を出す）あ、おはよう。ちょっと目閉じててくれる？」
Joey: No no no no no, I'm not falling for that again.
「いやいやいや、もうそれには2度と騙されないぞ」
Phoebe: What's going on?
「どうしたのよ？」
Rachel: Well, I sorta did a stupid thing last night.
「昨夜、なんというかバカなことしたの」
Chandler: What stupid thing did you do?
「どんなバカなことしたの？」
Paolo: (Come out of Rachel's room) (says something in Italian)
「（イタリア語で何か言う）」
Phoebe: Ewww!
「いやー！」
[Time Lapse]
時間経過。
Rachel: Ok, Paulo, why don't you just go get dressed, and then you be on your way, ok, bye-bye. (He goes back to her room.)
「はい、パウロ。着替えてね、そしたら出てきて、はい、バイバイ（レイチェルの部屋に戻る）」
Monica: Rachel, how did this happen?
「レイチェル、どうしたのよ？」
Rachel: I don't know, I just kinda ran into him last night.
「わからない、ただ、昨夜彼とばったり会ったの」
Phoebe: Where?
「どこで？」
Rachel: At his apartment. Is this juice?
「彼の部屋よ。これってジュース？」
Joey: Whoa, whoa. And the fact that you dumped him because he hit on Phoebe?
「おいおい、フィービーをナンパしたからあいつを捨てたんだろ？」
Rachel: I know, I know I'm pathetic. I'm a loser.
「わかってるわ、私ってほんと哀れよ。私はダメ人間だわ」
Monica: Honey, you're not pathetic, you're sad.
「レイチェル、哀れじゃないわよ、悲しいだけよ」
Chandler: People do stupid things when they're upset.
「人ってのは動転しているときはバカなことするものさ」
Monica: My god, if I had a nickel for every guy I wish I hadn't--but this is about your horrible mistake.
「もう、しなければよかったと思う男全員で5セント持ってたら‥、でも、これはあなたのひどい間違いの話よ」
(Ross and Julie enter)
ロスとジュリーが入ってくる。
Ross: Hi.
「やぁ」
Everyone: Hi. (Rachel says it grudgingly)
「やぁ。（レイチェルはしぶしぶ言う）」
Ross: Sorry we're late but we were--well, there was touching.
「遅れてごめんね、僕たち、その、触ったりで」
Paolo: Hey, hey Ross.
「やぁ、やぁ、ロス。」
Ross: Hey, Paolo. What are you doing here?
「やぁ、パウロ。ここで何してるんだい？」
Paolo: I do Raquel.
「ラケレをやった」
Ross: (To Rachel) So, uh, he's back.
「（レイチェルに）へぇ、彼が戻ってきたんだね」
Rachel: Yeah, he's back. Is that a problem?
「あぁ、戻ってきたの。問題ある？」
Ross: No, not a problem.
「いや、問題ないよ」
Rachel: I'm glad it's not a problem.
「問題なくてよかったわ」
Phoebe: (To Paolo) Ok, you're gonna have to not touch my ass.
「あのねぇ、私のケツを触らるんじゃないよ」
Chandler: Well, despite the yummy bagels and palpable tension, I've got pants that need to be altered.
「いやぁー、美味しいベーグルと、明らかな緊張だけど、仕立てられる必要があるズボンがあるんだ」
Joey: Hey, Chandler, when you see Frankie, tell him Joey Tribbiani says hello. He'll know what it means.
「なぁ、チャンドラー、フランキーにあったら、ジョーイ・トリビアーニがよろしくって言ってるって伝えてくれ。彼はそれの意味わかるから」
Chandler: Are you sure he's gonna be able to crack that code?
「彼は本当にその暗号解読できるのか？」
Monica: You know it's funny, the last time Paulo was here, my hair was so much shorter and cuter.

Phoebe: All right. Ok, but, but you have to promise that you will not be all like control-y and bossy and Monica about it.

Phoebe: All right. Now some of you are gonna get cut, and some of you aren't. But I promise none of you are gonna feel a thing.

[Scene7: Monica's bedroom. Phoebe is giving Monica a haircut. Monica makes faces.]

Monica: I'm sorry. I'm sorry, Phoebe. It's, well, just a little shorter than what we had discussed.

Phoebe: Would you relax? I know what I am doing. This is how he wears it.

「ごめん、ごめんなさい。デミ・ムーアってどのの人だっけ？」
Monica: She's the actress who was in Disclosure, Indecent Proposal, Ghost.
「『ディスクロージャー』、『幸福の条件』、『ゴースト/ニューヨークの幻』に出てた女優よ」
Phoebe: Oh, she's got gorgeous hair.
「あー、ほんと素敵な髪型しているわよね」
Monica: I KNOW!
「知ってるわよ！」
[Scene8: The tailer's place. Frankie is talking to Chandler.]
仕立屋。フランキーがチャンドラーと話している。
Frankie: How long do you want the cuffs?
「折り返しはどのぐらいの長さにしますか？」
Chandler: At least as long as I have the pants.
「あー、少なくともズボンがあるって長さで」
Frankie: I just got that. Ok, now we'll do your inseam.
「あー、今、意味がわかったよ。さーて、では縫い目をやりますよ」
(Chandler makes a face, like something wrong happened.)
何か間違ったことが怒ったかのように、チャンドラーが表情を作る。
[Scene8: Monica and Rachel's apartment. Phoebe comes out of Monica's bedroom.]
モニカとレイチェルのアパート。フィービーがモニカの寝室から出てくる。
Rachel: How is she?
「モニカはどう？」
Phoebe: It's too soon to tell. She's resting, which is a good sign.
「まだわからないわ。休んでる、それはいい兆候ね」
Ross: How's the hair?
「髪の毛は？」
Phoebe: I'm not gonna lie to you, Ross, it doesn't look good. I put a clip on one side, which seems to have stopped the curling.
「ウソは言わないわ、ロス。よくは見えない。片方にクリップをつけたわ、それでカールを止めたように見えるわ」
Joey: Can we see her?
「モニカに面会してもいい？」
Phoebe: Your hair looks too good, I think it would upset her. Ross, you come on in.
「ジョーイの髪の毛はかっこよすぎるわ、きっとモニカを怒らせる。ロスは入って」
Joey: How're you doing?
「調子はどう？」
Rachel: I'm ok.
「大丈夫よ」
Joey: Ooh, that bad, huh? Look, I can sense when women are depressed and vulnerable. It's one of my gifts.
「あー、そんなにひどいのかぁ。あのさ、俺は女が落ち込んで、傷ついている時がわかるんだよ。俺の才能の１つさ」
Rachel: When I saw him get off that plane with her, I really thought I hit rock bottom. But today, it's like there's rock bottom, then 50 feet of crap, then me.
「ジュリーと飛行機降りるところを見た時、私は本当にもう最悪の状態になったと思ったわ。でも、今日は、まるで、最悪の状態、50フィートのゴミ、そして私、って感じ」
Joey: You gotta tell Ross how you feel.
「ロスに自分の気持ちを言わなきゃ」
Rachel: Come on. How can I just tell him? What about Julie?
「もう、どうして言えるのよ？ ジュリーは？」
Joey: What about her? They've only been going out for two weeks. Ross has been in love with you for like 10 years.
「彼女がどうしたってんだよ？ あの２人はたったの２週間しか交際してないんだぞ。ロスは君に10年ぐらい恋してるんだぞ」
Rachel: I don't know, I don't know.
「わからない。わからないの」
Joey: Look, Rach, Rach, I've been with my share of women. In fact, I've been with like a lot of people's share of women. The point is, I've never felt about anyone the way Ross felt about you.
「ねぇ、レイチ、レイチ。俺の自分相応の女の子と付き合ってきたんだ。っていうか、多くの人相応分の女の子と付き合ってきたぜ。言いたいのは、ロスが君を思うように俺は誰かに感じたことはないんだ」
Chandler: (enters angrily) Yo, paisan. Can I talk to you for a sec? Your tailor is a very bad man.
「（怒って入ってくる）よぉ、同胞よ。ちょっと話いいか？ お前の仕立て屋は本当に悪い男だ」
Joey: Frankie? What're you talking about?
「フランキーのこと？ 一体何のことだよ？」
Ross: Hey, what's going on?
「おい、どうしたんだ？」
Chandler: Joey's tailor... took advantage of me.
「ジョーイの仕立て屋が‥俺を利用した」
Ross: What?
「何？」
Joey: No way. I've been going to the guy for 12 years.
「そんなわけないだろ。俺は彼のところに12年行ってるんだぞ」
Chandler: Come on. He said he was going to do my inseam, and he ran his hand up my leg, and then, there was definite--
「あのなぁ。あいつは俺の縫い目やるって言って、手を俺の脚に這わせて、そして、絶対にあったんだよ‥」
Ross: what?
「なにが？」
Chandler: Cupping.
「握りが」
Joey: That's how they do pants. First they go up one side, they move it over, they go up the other side, they move it back, and then they do the rear. What? Ross, will you tell him? Isn't that how they measure pants?
「ズボンをやるってのはそれが普通だろ。最初に片方やって、もう片方に動かして、反対側やる、もう１回戻す、そして、後ろをやる。え？ ロス、ロス、教えてやってくれよ、これがズボンのはかり方だろ？」
Ross: Yes, yes it is. In prison! What's the matter with you?
「あぁ、あぁ、その通りだ。刑務所ではな！ お前どうしたんだよ？」
Joey: What? That's not? Oh my god.
「え？ そうじゃないの？ まじかよ」
[Scene9: Monica and Rachel's. Monica, Phoebe, Ross and Chandler are talking. Rachel is out at the balcony.]
モニカとレイチェルのアパート。モニカ、フィービー、ロス、チャンドラーが話している。レイチェルはベランダで外にいる。
Monica: Even Mary Tyler Moore would've been better.
「メアリー・タイラー・ムーアですらまだましだったわ」
Ross: I like it. I do, I think it's a Ten.
「僕は気に入ってるよ。ほんとに。10点だと思うよ」
Monica: Thank you. My hair is very amused.
「ありがとう。私の髪はとても楽しんでるわ」
Chandler: Come on, Monica, things could be worse. You could get caught between the moon and New York City. I know it's crazy, but it's true.
「おいおい、モニカ。もっと最悪だったかもよ。月とニューヨークの間で捕まってしまうかもよ。馬鹿げてるってわかってるけど、本当だって」
Phoebe: Thank you.
「どうも」
Ross: Well, I gotta go. Bye. Bye, Rach.
「さて、行かないと。じゃあね。じゃあね、レイチ」
Rachel: Wait, are you leaving?
「待って、行くの？」
Ross: Yeah, that's kinda what I meant by "bye!"
「あぁ、"じゃあね"って言ったのはそんな意味だよ」
Rachel: Well, can I talk to you for a sec?
「んー、ちょっと話ししていい？」
Ross: Okay. (Runs to the balcony)
「うん（バルコニーの方に走って行く）」
Joey: Hey, when the doctor does that hernia test...
「おい、医者がヘルニア調べるときは‥」
Chandler: That's ok.
「それは大丈夫」
Ross: What's going on?
「どうしたの？」
Rachel: Hi. Well, first of all, Paolo and I are not back together. It was just a stupid thing I did, and if I could go back in time and do it again, well, I wouldn't. Um, second of all... what?
「んー、まず最初に、パウロと私はよりを戻してない。私がしたただのバカなことだし、もし時間戻してやりなおせるなら、私はしないわ。次に‥、どうしたの？」
Ross: Ok. Well, before I say anything, I just need to know, is this one of those things where you break up with a guy, and then I tell you what I think, and then the next day you get back together with the guy, and I look like a complete idiot?
「うーん、その、僕が何か言う前に、ただ知りたいんだ、これって君が男と別れて、僕が僕がどう思うかを君に言って、そして、次の日に君がその男とよりを戻して、僕が完全なバカに見えるってやつ？」
Rachel: No.
「違うわよ」
Ross: Well, then, I think, I think the guy is scum. I hate him. I mean, I physically hate him. I always have. You are way too good to be with a guy like that.
「そうか、じゃあ、僕はあいつはクズだと思うな。あいつは嫌いだ。体が大嫌いだと言ってる。いっつもそうだった。君はあんなやつにはあまりに良すぎるよ」
Rachel: Really?
「ほんと？」
Ross: Really. You deserve to be with someone who appreciates you, and who gets how funny and sweet and amazing, and adorable, and sexy you are, you know? Someone who wakes up every morning thinking "Oh my god, I'm with Rachel". You know, someone who makes you feel good, like the way I do with Julie. Was there a second of all?
「ほんとだよ。君の良さをわかってくれる人と一緒になることに値するよ、君がどれほど面白くて、やさしすて、素晴らしくて、愛らしくて、セクシーかわかる男だよ、わかる？ 毎朝起きたら、"まじかよ、俺はレイチェルと付き合ってるんだぞ"って思う人。その、君の気分をよくさせてくれる人、僕がジュリーとするようにね。で、次にってのはあるのかな？」
Rachel: No, I think that was the whole all.
「んーん、あれで全部だったと思うわ」
Ross: Okay. Okay. (They hug.) Okay.
「そうか。よかった。（ハグ）じゃあ」
Rachel: Okay. (Ross goes out of the balcony.)
「うん（ロスはバルコニーから出る）」
Joey: No, I swear to god, Dad. That's not how they measure pants.
「違うんだって、ほんとだよ父さん。それはズボンの測り方じゃないんだよ」
[Scene10: Central Perk. Phoebe and Julie are talking. Rachel is working.]
セントラルパーク。フィービーとジュリーが話している。レイチェルは働いている。
Julie: I was thinking of doing it a little shorter, you know, like Andie MacDowell's new haircut?
「ちょっと短くしようかなって思ってたんだよね、ほら、アンディ・マクダウェルの新しい髪型みたいに？」
Phoebe: Oh, yeah. Oh, I can do that.
「あー、なるほどね。うん、私できるわ」
Julie: Really?
「ほんとに？」
Phoebe: Do you wanna do it right now?
「今やりたい？」
Julie: Great!
「いいわね！」
Phoebe and Julie: Okay.
「よーし」
Julie: (to Rachel) See you. (leaves)
「（レイチェルに）じゃあね（去る）」
Phoebe: (To Rachel) Ok, I just wanna make really sure this time. Andie MacDowell is the girl from Four Weddings and a Funeral, right?
「（レイチェルに）あのさ、今回こそ、本当に確認したいの。アンディ・マクダウェルってフォー・ウェディングの女の子よね？」
Rachel: No. No no no no no. That's Roddy McDowall. Andie MacDowell is the guy from Planet of the Apes.
「違うわ。違う違う違う。それはロディ・マクドウォールよ。アンディ・マクダウェルは猿の惑星の男よ」
Phoebe: Oh, yeah. Ok, thank you.
「あー、そうか。うん、ありがとう」
Rachel: You're welcome.
